Leisure centre to close for improvements
11:00am Monday 14th October 2013 in News
TIDWORTH Leisure Centre is due to have some essential improvement works this month which will result in a temporary closure.
The building, which is owned by the Military of Defence (MOD) but run by Wiltshire Council, will be fully closed for all leisure activities from October 28 for three days while the work is carried out by MOD contractors.
The dry side of the centre will re-open on 31 October, however the pool and wet side will remain closed until 5 November.
Due to the nature of the work, the adjoining library will also need to be closed for the first three days, 28 October to 31 October.
Jonathon Seed, member for leisure, said: “We understand this will be an inconvenience but this work must be carried out by the MOD to improve the centre for the long-term benefit of everyone.”
Clubs and groups which use the centre have been informed and staff, where possible, will relocate their sessions.
