AN organic farm is celebrating growing success at an awards ceremony.
Organic home delivery company Riverford scooped gold gongs at the 27th Soil Association Organic Food Awards.
Guy Watson, Riverford’s founding farmer and current BBC Farmer of the Year, said: “Everything we grow and sell at Riverford is selected for flavour and winning so many awards in a blind tasting reassures us that we’re hitting the mark.”
Riverford started as a vegbox business but has been busy extending its food range to include picnic goodies, desserts and a creative new range of soups.
Guy added: “Enjoying and sharing good food is at the heart of everything Riverford does and we hope these awards will help us spread the Riverford word to even more people.”
The gold award-winning products were Riverford’s butternut squash and bacon chowder, chickpea, cauliflower and coconut masala soup, vegetable harira soup, Seville orange marmalade, homity pie and treacle tart.
Gold winners in fresh produce were baby artichokes, mini cucumbers and carrots.
