Local schools set for teacher strikes

SCHOOLS across Andover are preparing for disruptions tomorrow with some teachers set to walk out in strike against government plans to shake up the education system.
Pupils in year 10 and some from year 11 are being asked to attend classes as usual at Harrow Way with other years staying at home.
At John Hanson School years 7, 8, 9 and 11 are remaining in classes and at Testbourne School only years 7 and 11 are being asked to attend.
At the Wellington Academy year 11 and sixth form students are expected at school while at Winton all pupils are being asked to attend school as normal.
Wolverdene Special School and Mark Way School are set to be closed and Icknield School is expecting a part closure.
Other primary schools in the area have confirmed that they will be opening as usual for all pupils.
