One man and his dog - win CaniX

AN OVER WALLOP man claimed a win at the inaugural CSJ Canine Max CaniX World Championships held in Wales.
Over the weekend of the 12 and 13 October at Pembrey Country Park in Carmarthenshire Chris Hannan competed alongside his dog Shenook, a three-yearold Siberian husky.
Together they had the quickest overall times and became the Championship winners in their class.
Chris, 42, who works as an aircraft engineer at the Army Aviation Centre, Middle Wallop has had Shenook since he was eight months old.
Chris said: “Winning this has made me so proud of Shenook, this boy has come so far since coming to live with us, he has a special place in our hearts.”
CaniX involves running a 5km or 2km cross country course attached via a waist-belt and lead to a harnessed dog competitors can either run with one or two dogs, or choose to use a bike or scoot around the course with a dog pulling in front.
The event attracted over 140 entries, with some competitors travelling from as far as Belgium, Spain and one entrant from New Zealand.
