Success pops up

ANDOVER’S second pop-up shop occupier moves into the new premises this weekend with The Travelling Cupcake opening the doors for three weeks.
Test Valley Borough Council has organised the pop-up shop scheme at 4 Bridge Street in response to the Andover Summit allowing local businesses an opportunity to retail in the town centre.
Phil Evans Photography enjoyed a successful stint and after The Travelling Cupcake it will be the turn of Wow! Cosmetics.
Councillor Ian Carr, leader of the council, said: “It is excellent to learn that the first occupier of the pop-up shop has been successful, with the opportunity now for The Travelling Cupcake to follow in Phil Evans footsteps.
“I look forward to seeing another new business come to the town for a trial period. It is through the council’s efforts and partnership working between the three pop-up shop occupiers, Stratfords Commercials, the letting agent and Prosigns UK, a sign producer, that we have been able to get this project off the ground.”
Bev Botha of The Travelling Cupcake, said: “I am really very excited to be occupying this fantastic shop and to have the opportunity to trade in the town.
“With over 15 years of experience and a love of all home and handmade cakes, I look forward to welcoming the people of Andover who pop in to the pop-up shop to try our gorgeous cakes.”
Phil Evans of Phil Evans Photography, said: “The public's reaction to the pop up shop has been very positive with people popping in to say how lovely it looks. We've had a successful time with fine art print sales and portrait commissions.”
