RESIDENTS of an Andover care home were treated to a special performance of pantomime Cinderella.

Stars from London theatre group Carousel dropped by to entertain residents, family members and staff at Arbory residential home, in London Road. The home provides personalised care and support for those with dementia and mental health needs.

With songs, jokes, puppets and a little bit of magic, the show saw the famous characters of Cinderella, Buttons, the Wicked Stepmother and the Ugly Sisters all making an appearance.

Carousel provides specialist drama workshops and performances that are developed for those with dementia and related illnesses.

Jenny Higgins, activities co-ordinator at Arbory, said: “For many residents, a trip to the theatre is too much to manage, so having the performers come to them is just fantastic.

“Everyone really loved the show and it was amazing to see a room full of smiles and laughter!

“At Arbory we believe in supporting individuals to live a full and active life and our activities programme is a key part of that.”
