A Whitchurch family missed out on seeing their grandmother this Christmas with her entry to the UK being refused.

Babuska Galina has been travelling to the country for the last 15 years over the festive season to see her family but the Home Office have refused her a family visitor visa.

Andrew and Katya Reeves-Hall along with their two sons Tosha (8) and Tolii (10) desperately want to see her this Christmas, especially after Andrew lost his father back in March.

Andrew said: “We think this decision is highly unfair and cruel, especially since my dad, "Grandpa", passed away in March and won't be with us around the Christmas table either now. “We have written to our MP, Sir George Young, and hope that he might be able to find a way through the muddle at the Home Office.

“We're hoping the Home Office can see their way to letting her visit her grandchildren again this Christmas.”

Friends and family have been writing to local MP Sir George Young and even the Prime Minister himself David Cameron, you can give your support to the Reeves-Hall family on Facebook by searching ‘Christmas Baba’ or writing to your local MP.
