ANDOVER man Ray Knight scaled The 02 Arena roof in London to raise hundreds of pounds for the MS Society Branch.

Before the recent rain and gales, Ray, who lives on Shakespeare Avenue, took himself and his wheelchair to the roof of the arena in Central London and enjoyed some spectacular views.

It takes three hours for a person in a wheelchair to complete the climb with two guides above the arena, with wheelchair climbs also more susceptible to cancellations due to the higher likelihood of poor weather in the winter seasons.

After successfully completing the climb, Ray described the experience as ‘fantastic’ and was delighted to raise £300 for the MS Society’s Andover and Rural District Branch.

Ray had a fantastic 360 degree view of London from the top of the dome.

From there he could clearly see Canary Wharf and wonderful views across the whole of the city.
