ONE man has died and four others have been injured in a crash this morning.

Hampshire Constabulary was called at 6.20am to the two car collision at Larks Barrow Hill on the Newbury Road in Whitchurch.

A white Ford Escort van was involved in a collision with an A-class Mercedes.

The man driving the Ford Escort sadly died at the scene.

Four other men who were travelling in the Mercedes are being treated for injuries. Two sustained life threatening injuries and they have been taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.

Road closures are in place at the Newbury Road junction with Cole Henley Road to Litchfield and are expected to be so for the next few hours while an investigation is undertaken. Local diversions are in place.
