ADDITIONAL car parking at the new Garrison Theatre in Tidworth could eventually be funded by the Army.
An offer by Tidworth Town Council to provide a loan to the MoD to the tune of £150,000 to help bring the development forward a couple of years has been turned down by the military.
Cllr Humphrey Jones said: “Project Allenby- Connaught has no mechanism for accepting money from local councils, so while they thanked us for the offer it doesn’t fit in with their plans.”
Garrison commander Col James Denny said it had been a “useful exercise”.
He said: “I think it will come in on the back of 20:20.”
The 20:20 plans involve spending on infrastructure so the area can cope with an influx of 4,000 soldiers and their families.
