VOLUNTEER-run Castledown Radio, based in Ludgershall, opened its doors to 11th Andover St Michael’s Scout group.

As part of their community badge, the Scouts are encouraged to visit local groups and see how they are run.

As a community radio station, Castledown Radio were delighted to share with them all that goes on at the purpose built station.

The Scouts learned what being a community radio station means and the impact it has in the local community.

They had a go at preparing and selecting songs and jingles as well as speaking on air, after having a tour around the station and the Really Red Radio Roadshow (RRRR).

Mark Freeta, chairman at the station said: “It’s part of our commitment to the community to welcome groups and show them what we do.

“It’s great to see such enthusiasm and energy from the Scouts and a couple of them have said they would like to get involved going forward.
