Fun run for Water Aid

BARTON Stacey C of E Primary School children have held a nonuniform day and fun run to help raise funds to support Water Aid.

The idea and planning of the day came from two of the school’s Year 6 pupils, Jena Lawler and Ted Miles, after an assembly that had focused on the importance of water.

The children had been challenged to either design a water-saving device or to come up with an idea that would make a difference to the world’s water supply.

Ted and Jena decided that if the school could raise money to buy wells through Water Aid this would have a big impact on providing safe water supplies.

Children were encouraged to come to school dressed as their favourite sportsman/woman or in sports clothing.

All the children took part, and in the afternoon all the classes took part in a fun run.

The day saw £200 raised, which means that the school will be able to purchase 20 wells.
