TRIPLE play, broadband, TV and call packages will soon be available to residents on Augusta Park thanks to a deal agreed with Sky TV.

GTC (the sales arm of Independent Fibre Networks Ltd) and Sky have reached an agreement so See The Light, the current broadband provider, can offer a Sky TV package along with their broadband to mimic the sort of triple play packages offered by Sky and Virgin. The new packages will be available from this summer.

Borough and town councillor Phil North said: “This is good news for local residents as not only will they will be able to take advantage of the better rates through the package it is a precursor for Sky to test the market prior to considering delivering their broadband and TV services next year.”

“I have been campaigning for more broadband suppliers on Augusta Park for some time and have held public meetings with residents and have met the developers and Independent Fibre Networks Ltd.

“A greater choice of suppliers has been promised by IFNL on several occasions but we still have a lack of a major player.

“I hope this agreement will encourage Sky to provide their broadband services so we can have more choice and competition in the market. I am in regular contact with the technical account manager at IFNL and will continue to press for better services for Augusta Park residents.”
