THE popular Andover roller disco will be back for another spin this Easter, with a neon fancy dress theme to take it back to its 80s roots.

The disco, held at Andover Leisure Centre, has been booked for Friday, 11 April - with two sessions, one for families and one for just teenagers and adults.

The disco made its first return to the town last autumn after a break of some 25 years. But it was so well received, the organisers promised to hold more.

Linda Arnold, sport and activity development manager at Andover for Valley Leisure, said: “The last two roller discos have been great fun and very popular.

“More than 500 people came to the last event.

“This time, we’re remembering the Andover roller disco’s 1980s heyday by having a neon fancy dress theme.

“We can’t wait to see everyone spinning around in bright colours.”

The family disco session will be from 3pm to 6.30pm. It will be followed by the adults and over 13s event from 7pm to 10.30pm.

On the day, there will be a light show and a DJ playing up-to-date songs and a special retro section.

Entry prices can include skate hire - £8 for children or £10 for adults - or people can bring their own and pay less - £6 for children and £8 for adults.

Parents who are not skating can come into the family event with their children for free. Children under eight must be accompanied by an adult.

Tickets can be bought by phoning 01264 347100 or from the Andover Leisure Centre reception. Tickets bought in advance should be picked up before the night to avoid the queues.

Food and drink is available.
