MP CLAIRE Perry has met with representatives from Girlguiding UK at Westminster.

She discussed the Be Body Confident campaign and the work of the organisation. Research shows that girls’ body confidence is reaching crisis point, with one in three girls unhappy with their looks and one in five girls aged from seven to 11 having dieted.

After the meeting, Claire said: “As a former Brownie, I was eager to meet the leaders of Girlguiding UK which is the largest organisation for girls and young women across the country with more than 500,000 members and which is giving a real voice to the problems and concerns of girls across the country.

“I know from my work as the Prime Minister’s special adviser and as a mother of teenage girls just how important selfesteem is for young people and I am really happy to be able to support the #Be Body Confident campaign.”
