LIVE bands and acoustic artists will perform for a family fun weekend in Ludgershall.

The third free event will take place at The Queen’s Head pub, in High Street.

Alongside the live music, there will be a bouncy castle and Finkley Down Farm’s family pets corner.

Starting at 1pm on Saturday, the event will raise money for The Stars Appeal, in Salisbury, which supports patients who have been diagnosed with cancer.

Organiser Billy Walters said: “Around about five years ago, my wife Fran was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma.

“She has been the inspiration behind this event.

“This is for her, and for the many thousands of people who have received the terrible news that the fight for life has begun.

“Fran has been under treatment for the last four-and-a-half years at the Pembroke Unit at Salisbury Hospital.

“We all have friends or family members who are going through their own battles right now.

“We also all know people who have lost the battle, but the fight goes on.

“Come and help me raise as much as we can to help fight for life.”

The event is being supported by many businesses.

The main music tent is being sponsored by Mayflower Marquee Hire and Castledown Radio is sponsoring the acoustic tent and will be running commentary throughout the day.

There will be eight music acts on Saturday with more live music on Sunday.
