LUDGERSHALL Castle Primary School pupils celebrated the grand opening of new play area equipment worth over £6,000.

The school’s PTA has been raising funds towards the project for a number of years and received match funding in the form of a community grant.

The new wooden equipment included a boat and climbing apparatus for school children to enjoy.

PTA chairman Becky Barratt said: “It is good see all the kids here enjoying the new equipment after a lot of hard work.

“We have worked very hard as a team, and special thanks needs to go to Laura Hindson and Kelly Knowlson.”

The equipment was opened by Wiltshire county councillor Chris Williams and Ludgershall town chairman Owen White.

Cllr Williams said: “The PTA have been involved in raising funds for over four years now and this will be a fantastic community asset.”
