AN Andover woman has produced a second poetry book for charity despite suffering from Parkinson’s Disease.

Bobbie Coelho, of Watermill Close, has raised the cash necessary herself to have the books published, the profits of which will go towards Parkinson’s UK.

Her second book, titled Reflecting the Light, follows on from the success of her first book Finding the Light which was released in 2011 and also went to help the charity find a cure.

Bobbie, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2002, has used her poetic talents as a means of putting things into perspective and said that poetry has allowed her to reflect on her journey and make sense of the challenges she faces.

Subjects covered mix in a blend of pathos and humour with poems including one about a friendly Dalek and a Christmas remembered.

Bobbie said: “I write because it helps express my feelings and helps other people to understand.

“It also helps people who don’t like poetry understand because they have been in that situation.

“Although some of them are personal they still relate to other people.”

Bobbie will be attending groups throughout the area to talk about her disease and about her poetry book including Winchester’s Parkinson’s group and Thruxton’s WI.

Copies of the book are available for £8.99 from silverwoodbooks.co.uk or by contacting Bobbie on 01264 355664.
