ONE hundred years on from the start of the First World War, Thruxton is celebrating the life of the village in the years that followed.

The community celebrations, which centre on the village’s annual fete, will take place over two days on Saturday, 21 and Sunday, 22 June, starting at 2pm.

There will be a special church service to mark the occasion.

The village, which has been inhabited for over 1,000 years, still features properties build as far back as 1407.
