HUNDREDS of members of North West Hampshire Conservative Association are currently choosing a successor to Sir George Young, who is stepping down at the General election.
Boris Johnson is not one of the four potential candidates addressing the members at John Hanson School this evening.
There are three men and a woman and each is being given half an hour to make their case in front of party members.
There will then be a vote. The winning candidate will be the one who first receives 50 per cent of the votes in a contest where there are rounds of voting and the loser drops out.
The winner’s name is expected to be revealed shortly before 10pm tonight.
We hope to bring you the details and some words from the winner later tonight.
Sir George had a majority of 18,583 at the last election. His 58.3per cent share of the vote makes the seat the 31st safest in the country for the Conservatives.
