Memorial service for crew of crashed plane

AIRCREW including a pilot from Andover who died in the mountains above Blaenau Ffestiniog in Wales between 1941 and 1942 were remembered in a special ceremony.
On 28 June at St David’s Church in Blaenau Ffestiniog, a memorial service was held in memory of those killed in a plane crash.
On 21 March 1941, a Vickers Wellington of 150 Squadron RAF was returning from a raid on Lorient in Brittany.
The damaged and lost plane hit the slopes of Moel Farlwyd killing crew members including 24-year-old Pilot Officer Roland Clive Parkhurst from Andover.
The service was conducted by the Reverend David Brownridge.
