FEARS of a wash-out were quickly swept away at a hugely successful summer fete at Shepherd Spring Pre-School on Saturday.
The event’s attractions included a bouncy castle, tombola, raffle, cake and plant stall, and it raised more than £1,000 for the pre-school.
Pre-school manager Jo Robinson said: “We were a bit concerned because of the weather, but the money we raised is really good for us.
“It was an absolutely fantastic turn-out.
“When I look back, it doesn’t seem like there were many people there, but I think it was because everything was so spread out.”
