THE people of Whitchurch joined in with a Lights Out invitation to mark the 100th anniversary of the date Great Britain entered the First World War.
On Monday, 4 August from 10pm until 11pm, local residents gathered at Whitchurch Town Hall and lit centenary candles, reflecting on the sacrifices made by so many.
All profits from the sale of centenary candles all over the country will support serving members of the Armed Forces, veterans of all ages and their families.
