WHITCHURCH Arts held an art exhibition at the Gill Nethercott Centre for local artists to showcase their work.

All artists were invited to display their work for a fee of just £3 per piece, with Whitchurch Arts members exhibiting for free.

The Gill Nethercott Centre was open between 10.30am and 5pm on both Saturday, 26 July and Sunday, 27 July allowing the public to view the variety of work.

The public were encouraged to come along to see the vibrant work by local photographers, artists and craftspeople that Whitchurch has to offer and weren’t disappointed with what they saw.

Keith Pattison of Whitchurch Arts said: “I was very pleased with the exhibition and also the feedback I got from both visitors and exhibitors.

“I can’t say that we were inundated with visitors but we had a steady flow of visitors throughout the weekend and several artists made sales including cards, prints, paintings and mosaics.

“All in all it was well worthwhile and we are already planning another in Whitchurch perhaps shortly before Christmas.”

Whitchurch Arts is a forum to further the progression of all creative art forms in the Whitchurch community.

It’s a non-profit-making organisation, meaning money raised at various events, and through grants and donations, are put back into supporting further artistic events and activities for the benefit of Whitchurch.
