POLICE in Whitchurch have been working hard to engage with young people in the area.

After calls from local residents for police to improve relations with young people to help tackle drinking and antisocial behaviour, the force have stepped up their work.

Regular patrolling has been taking place in Whitchurch’s most secluded areas and known hotspots while engaging with youths.

A police spokesman said: “Even with the beautiful weather we have been having recently antisocial behaviour continues to be at an all-time low. Long may this continue.

“We had one call relating to drunken youths and this was teenagers that were aged between 16 and 18 arguing in the streets.

“It soon went quiet and there were no further issues.”
