A DAY of endurance pub games and entertainment was held at the Old Castle Club in Ludgershall on Saturday to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research.
Sponsored games of darts, pool and snooker were played for up to 12 hours while other fundraising activities were going on, including a raffle, teddy tombola and hooking the duck. Music was provided by singer Frankie and band 80 Proof Mojo.
Organiser Jackie Merry, of Astor Crescent, Ludgershall, was inspired to put on the event after losing her mother to the disease earlier in the year at the age of 81.
A total of £1,065 was raised on the day plus £725 from collection tins in the run up to the event.
Describing the success of the fundraiser Jackie said: “It was an absolutely incredible day and the support was second to none.
“People were so kind and generous – it has been recognised as a worthwhile cause.”
