ABBOTTS Ann Village Shop Association has been awarded a grant of £6,850 from Test Valley Borough Council’s Community Asset Fund to help fund its refurbishment.

The shop has been fitted with new catering equipment and kitchen facilities.

The money has also helped pay for a modern computer system. Hampshire County Council and Abbotts Ann Parish Council also contributed towards the project.

Maureen Flood, borough councillor for Anna ward and Abbotts Ann Village Shop postmaster, said: “We are delighted to accept these generous funds to allow us to refurbish the shop.

“Although we are a very traditional shop, it is vital that we maintain a modern customer experience to ensure we continue to provide the valued amenity that our customers require.”
