THE guest of honour at the Andover College 2014 Celebration of Achievements Awards was a former pupil, who spoke about her success since studying in the town and who brought along some of her footwear, which has caught the eyes of manufacturers.
Helen Kirkum, who three years ago collected the Outstanding Contribution to Art Award, inspired this year’s award winners with her Have fun, be brave, make a mess, believe in yourself, be the best’ themed presentation.
Helen said: “Being brave is about knowing what’s best for you. Know what you want to achieve and seize every opportunity.
“If you are committed to something and enjoy what you do it will be much easier to be the best at it and it’s so important to have fun, because how can you regret something that you’ve enjoyed doing so much.”
The event is staged at The Lights every September.
