ANDOVER Leisure Centre has nominated The Katie Piper Foundation as one of their charities of the year, and has offered up its facilities to would-be fundraisers for the foundation.

Originally from Andover, Katie, pictured below, says she is delighted that the foundation has this opportunity to raise funds for burns survivors in her home town.

Soon to be celebrating its fifth birthday, The Katie Piper Foundation is keen to find active fundraisers who want to help them set up fundraising initiatives at Andover Leisure Centre.

Contact fundraising executive Gemma Morgan at gemma@katiepiperfoundation.org.uk with your ideas.

The person who comes up with the most innovative fundraising plan will win a special Katie Piper Foundation goody bag and a signed copy of Katie’s new book Beautiful Ever After.

The foundation can also help with items like branded Tshirts, collection tins and running tops.

Kevin Patterson, chief executive officer of Valley Leisure Ltd (of which Andover Leisure Centre is part of) said: “Valley Leisure Ltd chose to support The Katie Piper Foundation because our aims and visions are very similar and the foundation is close to the hearts of the people of Andover.

“Our aim to get people ‘Active for Life’ encouraging social inclusion and support is echoed through the foundation’s own vision of social inclusion and well-being, and we are very happy to be working together.”

Carol Borwick, director of fundraising and operations at The Katie Piper Foundation said: “We’re thrilled to be supported by Andover Leisure Centre.

“This provides our wonderful fundraisers with an outstanding venue to organise fitness-related events in and we’re looking forward to helping them develop their plans.”
