THE new principal of Winton Community Academy has been fielding questions to local Year 6 pupils about life in secondary school.

Nathan Thomas has visited Vigo Junior School, Anton Junior School, Andover Primary School, Knights Enham Junior School, Endeavour Primary School and Smannell and Enham Primary School.

He has also been getting the students up on their feet singing and dancing in the morning assemblies.

“The Year 6 students have been brilliant with lots of energy and excellent questions about what it’s like at secondary school,” said Mr Thomas.

As well as singing and dancing together the primary school pupils have been finding out more about Winton Community Academy and their open evening on Tuesday 30 September.

“These are exciting times for Winton Community Academy and I would like as many year six or Year 5 students parents as possible to visit us at our open evening to see how things are changing,” he added.

“Winton already has many strengths with wonderful staff and students but understandably parents are concerned by some of the difficulties it has experienced in the last few years.

“All I would ask is parents and students come along on the evening to find out about our vision for Winton and see why we believe it is such an innovative and creative school focused on excellent teaching and learning.”
