A PRIVATE tutoring firm has marked its second academic year of helping Andover children with a special prizegiving ceremony.

Kip McGrath welcomed more than 60 of its current tutees and their families from the town to the event, which was held at their Westmarch Business Centre base.

The Mayor of Test Valley, Councillor Jan Lovell (pictured), was on hand to dish out various prizes to youngsters aged six to ten, before MP Sir George Young gave awards to 11-16 year olds from secondary schools across the region.

Kip McGrath is a professional franchised business, which aims to support children who have gaps in their knowledge or a lack of confidence.

The centre, which is run by ex-headmaster Bas Brown and his wife Emma, has helped around 150 Andover children in its first two years of operation.
