THEY are best known for their starring roles in one of the world’s biggest TV drama series.

Aidan Gillen and Jamie Sives shot to global stardom as part of the cast of Golden Globe-nominated show, Game of Thrones, filming in glamorous locations including Croatia, Malta, Iceland and Morocco.

But now the duo have joined forces in Hampshire after producing a short film together in the Test Valley.

Andover Advertiser:

Irish actor Gillen, who plays Littlefinger (above) in the fantasy saga, is starring in dark love story Song – the writing and directing debut of fellow Game of Thrones star Sives.

The 19-minute film, which was shot in woods at Goodworth Clatford with a budget of just £15,000, is produced by Stockbridge-based Fazed Pictures.

Sarah Li, who runs the production firm, says her latest picture looks at “the lengths to which people are prepared to go for love.”

It is due to receive its premier at the Cork Film festival next month.

Sarah, 31, hopes the film, which is her sixth short film so far including animations and documentaries, will provide a springboard for her first full-length feature.

The former Test Valley School pupil is already working on a horror film, which is set to be filmed in Stockbridge and the surrounding areas next spring.

She said: “It's about a woman who lives with the ghost of her dead husband.

“Once it's made we’ll try to get it noticed at festivals and hopefully we will get a distributor.

“It may end up going straight on line but we’d like it to have a cinema release.”
