A father and daughter living in the same house each won £200,000 in the People's Postcode Lottery.

Keith Cunliffe, 48, and daughter Charlotte, 20, from Warrington, were shocked when their postcode, WA1 3TS, was revealed as the full winning postcode in the October Postcode Millions competition.

Charlotte, a customer adviser for BetFred, said: "My heart dropped when I saw that it was our postcode that was drawn as the big winner. I want to buy a house and this money means that it is possible. I'm 21 next week and it's the best birthday present ever."

Her father, an engineering manager, said: "We are going to pay off our mortgage on the family home, so for us both to be mortgage free, it's a fantastic feeling."

He added: "I signed up because I saw how many charities were benefiting, and could see that causes local to me were supported."

Some 166 residents shared a prize pot of £2 million which was distributed at a cheque presentation at The Park Royal Hotel, Warrington. Half of that - five prizes of £200,000 - goes to players in the full winning postcode, Princess Avenue, and the other £1 million is divided among other players in the winning sector, central Warrington.

Postcode Millions presenter Judie McCourt said: "What an amazing day it has been, not only for our fab five but for all winners in Warrington, a massive congratulations to you all."

People's Postcode Lottery is a charity lottery where players play with their postcodes to win prizes while raising money for charities and good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
