Keith Chegwin will be returning to the stage in Basingstoke as Buttons this pantomime season accompanied by Katy Ashworth from CBeebies as the Fairy Godmother.

Cinderella will run at The Anvil from Thursday, 11 December, to Sunday, 4 January, 2015.

And two lucky readers have the chance to win a family ticket to the show at 6pm on Saturday, 13 December.

Keith, who became a household name in the 1970s presenting the television shows Cheggers Plays Pop and Multi-Coloured Swap Shop, and has rarely been off our screens since, was last at The Anvil in 2001 when he appeared in Mother Goose.

More recently, he was part of ITV1’s Dancing on Ice (Series 8) when he reached fifth place, and starred in The Nutcracker on Ice at the London Palladium.

Katy is best known for presenting on the BAFTA Award-winning TV channel CBeebies on which she also presents one of the flagship series, I Can Cook.

Katy is an accomplished actress, entertainer and singer having taken the lead in several pantomimes, performed in front of 8,000 people at Wembley on the CBeebies live tours and presented live I Can Cook shows in Butlins resorts.

She has performed her live onewoman interactive show for children at hundreds of theatres, festivals and other events in the UK and internationally, and is currently singing with a 12-piece soul band for kids!

Taking the title role of Cinderella is Sarah Louise Day, who is also choreographer, whilst Prince Charming is played by Ben Harlow, Gary Jordan is Dandini and David Alcock is Baron Hardup.

The two outrageous Ugly Sisters are played by Jamie Morris and Tarot Joseph.

Cinderella also features dancers from Basingstoke Academy of Dance and North Hampshire Academy of Dance.

Panto producer Martin Dodd, UK Productions, said “Cinderella is the most magical of pantomimes and everybody’s favourite. I am delighted with the line-up this year and I know that Cheggers and Katy will bring loads of fun and comedy to the show, not to mention boundless energy!

“We can promise something for everyone with the wickedest (but best dressed) Ugly Sisters in the business and the sensational Shetland ponies live on stage.”
