BUDDING thespians at an Andover school have had the opportunity to work alongside a professional actor.

The Harrow Way Year 11 performing arts students worked with the actor as part of their BTEC studies.

Kirsty Cox, who has numerous theatre, film and TV credits to her name, spent two weeks at the school sharing her experience and industry knowledge to help the students prepare for the show Shakespeare at War.

Euan Manson, drama teacher at Harrow Way, said: “Each year we set our students a huge challenge. They get a script, a professional director and just two weeks to create a perfect performance.

“While the pressure may be on for our students, the opportunity to spend time with a professional actor, being treated as professionals themselves, is an invaluable, enjoyable experience.”

Shakespeare at War, is a selection of scenes and soliloquies from Shakespeare which dealt with the themes of conflict, honour, death and courage.

By the end of week two the students were ready to deliver their performance to a sell-out crowd.
