A HAMPSHIRE politician has shown her support for a yearly drink-driving campaign.
Romsey and Southampton North MP, Caroline Nokes, is backing a Department of Transport scheme, which will see designated drivers entitled to free soft drinks at pubs and bars across the country.
The campaign, which is in its seventh year, is run in conjunction with soft-drinks company, Coca-Cola.
It requires drivers to buy a Coke and show their keys to get another one free.
Fans of lemonade will also benefit as Schweppes is included this year in over 12,500 pubs and bars across Great Britain during the Christmas season.
Nokes, who attended a reception by Coca-Cola last week, said: “This is an excellent initiative which highlights a very serious subject.
“I urge all constituents to think carefully about their designated driver and to not put themselves and others at risk over the festive period.”
The scheme, which is run as part of the Department of Transport’s ongoing Think! Campaign, handed out more than one million free soft drinks last year.
