DETECTIVES are appealing for information and witnesses after an attempted robbery on Friday.

At about 7.45am the victim, a 34-year-old woman, was walking along Dartmouth Walk, South Ham when she was approached by a man on a black bicycle.

The man then bumped into the victim causing her to fall into a bush. He then attempted to take her handbag but was unsuccessful and cycled off.

The offender is described as a white man, aged in his 30s and of a medium build. He was wearing a dark jacket with hood up and dark trousers. He was on a black bike with white detailing on it.
Detective Constable Paul Barry from the Northern Investigation Team said: “Fortunately the victim was uninjured but the incident has left her quite shaken.

“We believe the offender may have been riding his bike in the local area prior to the incident and we are keen to hear from anyone who might have any information that might assist the investigation.”
