BURGLARS escaped with a safe containing £30,000 after a raid on a Hampshire home.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the burglary that happened in Bishopstoke.
The safe was wheeled away in the victim’s wheelie bin along a back alley sometime between 2pm and 6pm after the break-in in Stoke Park Road.
The bin was later discarded.
Police staff investigator Melody Manning said: “I want to hear from anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area of Stoke Park Road on the afternoon of Sunday, February 22.
“A wheelie bin being dragged along with the weight of a safe inside is likely to have made quite a bit of noise. Did you hear anything that may be relevant?”
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact PSI Manning by calling 101.
Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
