AN ANDOVER man is hoping to hypnotise audiences this weekend as he makes his television appearance on ITV’s new prime time show.

Terry Anderson, from Upper Clatford, recently took part in the bizarre game show, “You’re Back In The Room”, where four contestants are hypnotised into behaving abnormally and potentially sabotaging their chances of winning a £25,000 prize.

The show, which is fronted by Philip Scoffield and Irish mentalist Keith Barry, debuted last weekend to an audience of over four million.

Those who tuned in to witness the drama saw contestants unwittingly re-enact the pottery scene from the film ‘Ghost’, hand feed celebrity chefs and even transform into legendary soul singer James Brown.

Personal trainer Terry insists his experience was equally surreal and is looking forward to getting back in his living room on Saturday evening to watch the chaos unfold.

Speaking to the Andover Advertiser, the 27-year-old, said: “The whole experience was amazing.

“At the time it was like nothing I have ever done before in my life.

“I really enjoyed the whole thing.”

Asked about what it was like to be hypnotised, he replied: “It was really strange but I think it is different for everyone.

“I was fully aware that I was trying to win money but once the trigger kicked in I became focused on that and didn’t realise what I was doing.

“They showed us what we had done after the show and it was quite surreal.

“When I looked back I realised how unaware I was about how stupid the things we were doing were.”

Talking about how his friends and family had reacted to him being on the show, Terry said: “I think everyone I know who watched the first show messaged me on Facebook about it.

“I’m sure they are going to be taking the mickey out of me after they have seen it!”

Terry’s performance will hit the nation’s televisions this Saturday.

To see how he got on tune in to ITV1 on March 21 at 8.20pm .
