LONDON Road in Andover has re-opened to traffic after being closed for several hours by police today. (12 April) A man was found with severe head injuries in London Road, Andover during the early hours of this morning .

At 3.56am, police received a report of a man lying in the middle of the road.

The injured man, who is believed to be 45 and from the area, was taken by ambulance to Southampton General Hospital where he is being treated.

Officers know from speaking to friends and family that he had been out for the evening in the town centre, and was last seen by a friend at 1.30am prior to being found unconscious in the road.

Despite the re-opening of the road the police's scientific services department has just finished investigating the road.

CCTV in the area is being studied, but officers investigating are very keen to hear from anyone who has any information which could help them establish what happened to the injured man.
