Calling all trade apprentices in Andover.

The search has begun in the South East for Screwfix’s Trade Apprentice 2015.

Do you think you’ve got what it takes to be named the best in the UK?

Screwfix is launching its first competition to find and reward the best trade apprentice in the UK.

Brilliant budding builders and the next generation of electricians and plumbers can all enter for the chance to win a trade business pack worth £10,000 containing everything they need to set up on their own.

Have you passed your course with excellent results, already offered great customer service when out and about or have you worked on an unusual job with your boss? Perhaps you have a keen interest in building your own business, you act with professionalism on every job or you have some great innovative product ideas.

No matter what the reason, trade apprentices from across the region are invited to enter – with finalists from around the UK going head to head, at Google HQ, to be named the best in Britain.

This year’s winner will receive a business pack including a Google Nexus smart phone and tablet and a laptop, as well as £3,500 worth of Screwfix products and up to £4,000 to spend on training courses to further enhance their career.

They will also wear the crown of the nation’s No 1 Apprentice.

John Mewett, marketing director at Screwfix, said: “As a key supplier to the trade we believe it’s vital that we recognise and reward the future tradesmen across the UK as they really are the foundation of any community, ensuring homes and businesses are fit for purpose. This competition has been created to give young apprentices a first step on the ladder in their career and give them the tools to help them to build a successful business.”

Entries are open until Wednesday 29 April, with finalists going head to head. The national final will be held at Google’s head office in June, with the overall winner being named the Trade Apprentice of 2015.
