AN Andover pub landlord has been issued with a dog control order by Basingstoke magistrates' court after pleading guilty to an incident in his pub in which a child was injured.

Phil Cockcroft, landlord of The Southampton Arms and The George Inn, St Mary Bourne, pleaded guilty to being in charge of an out of control dog in The George that resulted in the child sustaining injuries.

The 58-year-old was ordered to keep his Rottweiller Neo under control by keeping him muzzled when taken into a public place and keeping him out of the pub during business hours.

He was also fined £250.00 and ordered to pay compensation of £750.00, a victim surcharge of £25.00 and Crown Prosecution Costs of £85.00.
