IT HAS been a busy weekend of crime in Test Valley - here's a round up provided by the police...

- Explosive thrown from lorry

At 11:40am on 17/07/15 an item was thrown from the cab of a flat bed lorry whilst it was driving past the Cross Stores, Kings Somborne.

The vehicle is descrbed as a Ford flatbed lorry with a white cab and silver open back. The vehicle was carrying a silver ladder and foliage in the back.

The vehicle travelled towards Cross Stores via Winchester Road and then right onto Church Lane.

The object thrown from the vehicle caused a small explosion which was heard and witnessed by members of public from inside and outside the store.

- Drink drive suspect charged

On Friday 17th July 2015, a police patrol from Romsey saw a motorbike being ridden on the A3057.

The motorbike initially made off from police but was located shortly afterwards close to Roman Road, Stockbridge.

The rider provided a positive roadside breath-test and was arrested.

A 29 year old man from Stockbridge was subsequently charged with drink driving and will appear at Basingstoke Magistrates Court in the first week in August.

- Rogue traders at work

On the 17th July 2015 at approximately 4pm, a resident in Braishfield Road was approached by two males with Irish accents. It was a "cold call" and not expected.

The males were offering a diesel generator for sale which was apparently left over from a machinary show.

The males were described as using a rough looking white truck (exact make/model or registration number unknown).

The authenticity of goods for sale should be treated with extreme caution, even if paperworkhttp://www.andoveradvertiser.co.uk/admin/ is produced.

Please politely decline and call 101 with whatever information you have.

- Kids jumping in the river

Due to the warm weather a number of calls have been made to the police this weekend in relation to concerns about children jumping into the River Test.

The dangers of open water are:

* The water can be much deeper than you expect

* Rivers, lakes, canals and reservoirs are much colder than you think

* Cold water dramatically affects the ability to swim

* There may be hidden currents which can pull you under the water

* You don’t know what lies beneath, like pieces of rubbish or reeds which can trap or injure you.
