A MAN from London has been given a restraining order after being found guilty of assault by beating a woman in Andover in February.

The incident took place in Agricola Walk on 9 February when Murat Kula, who lives in Cameron Close, North London, assualted the victim at an address in the road.

The 32-year-old pleaded not guilty to the charges, but was found guilty by Basingstoke Magistrates who ordered him to pay a total of £539 including a fine of £219 and costs of £300.

He has been ordered not to contact the victim directly or indirectly, or go to Agricola Walk until 13 January 2016.
