A LIVERPUDLIAN petrol thief has been ordered to pay compensation after admitting stealing petrol from an Andover petrol station.

Paul James Hunt, of Heathgate Avenue, Liverpool, pleaded guilty to dishonestly making off without paying for petrol to the value of £65.01 from a petrol station on Weyhill Road in April.

The 22-year-old was ordered to pay £65.01 compensation when he appeared before magistrates in Basingstoke last week.

Hunt was also ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and and Crown Prosecution costs of £60.
