A MAN was arrested in Andover yesterday following the hospitalisation of a young man after taking a concocted drug.

The man was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to supply controlled drugs after allegedly supplying the young man with the drug 2C, which resulted in him being taken to hospital.

The drug, known as 2C, is the combination of a stimulant and a hallucinogenic.

A police spokesperson said: “We are investigating what that substance was, but we have been told it was something called 2C, apparently this particular concoction was a mixture of LSD and ecstasy.

“They ended up in hospital because they were so badly affected by it.”

The suspect has been bailed pending further enquiries.

The incident has prompted the police to issue a warning about the dangers of drug taking.

The spokesman “The important message is one of safety.

“And although we say that people should not do drugs, if they do they should be safe. This particular substance is quite nasty.

“Can you trust the person you are buying drugs from, that it is safe to use? If you are in any doubt, don’t use it.”
