POLICE are appealing for information following an assault and criminal damage to cars across the Salisbury Plain area last Sunday (4 October).

In Bulford, a car was deliberately damaged while parked in Sling Road.

A second car was damaged in the area of Milston Road and two other vehicles were damaged near 'C' crossing.

The assault also took place in Bulford as a local man was in the area of 'C' crossing when he was hit in the back by an object.

It is believed that the projectile was launched using a catapult or something similar and the man was not seriously injured.

All incidents took place after 4pm and several men were seen in a green people carrier type vehicle in the area at the time.

One of the passengers is described as white with dark hair and dark clothing.

PC Josh Bliss said: "If anyone has either witnessed an incident, seen anything suspicious or is a victim themselves, I would encourage them to contact me."

"We are working closely with Hampshire and Dorset Police who are also investigating similar incidents in their areas."
