POLICE have stepped up their hunt for witnesses after a Hampshire model was critically injured in an alleged hit-and-run attack.
Faye Townsend, 23, was rushed to hospital after a car ploughed into her as she walked down Tutts Lane, a country road in West Wellow.
A member of the public called the emergency services and Faye was left with severe head injuries after the incident, which happened just after 1.45pm on Tuesday.
She remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital and police are keen to hear from anyone who might have information on the alleged attack.
Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have seen a Nissan driving erratically in Calmore that afternoon.
A Hampshire Police spokesman said: “Officers are still keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the Nissan after the collision in the Calmore Road, Calmore Drive, or Richmond Close areas. The car was later recovered for examination in Calmore.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Hampshire Police on 101.
