TIDWORTH Town Council have thanked the community for their support at the town's Christmas festival, raising a donation of £500 for a local children’s hospice.
Held at the community centre the day’s festivities saw ice-skating taking place throughout the day and Santa’s reindeer stopping by in the afternoon.
Children visited Santa in his grotto while parents bought home-made gifts, crafts and sweets from the array of stalls, with refreshments provided by The Great British Tea & Cake Co.
As the evening drew in, the community centre’s Christmas tree was lit up for carol singing accompanied by Test Valley Brass Band.
Following the event, a donation of £500 has been made to Dorset-based children’s hospice, Julia’s House.
Town clerk Carly Lovell said: “It was very successful; we had over 350 children visit Santa.
"It was very well attended all day and we have made a donation to Julia’s House of £500.
"We are very grateful for the support we received despite the winds.
“It was all hands on deck and everyone pulled off a brilliant day.”
