A GIRL was rushed to hospital after being hit by a bus on a Test Valley road.

The collision happened on Botley Road, in North Baddesley at 3.30pm yesterday and emergency services, including numerous police, remained on the scene for several hours.

A South Central Ambulance spokesman said the accident involved a 13-year-old girl who was hit by a bus travelling at between 25 and 30 miles an hour.

He said the girl suffered a head injury that was not thought to be serious or life-threatening but has been taken by ambulance to Southampton General Hospital.

One side of the road was closed, but police were at this stage unable to confirm in which direction and they said they were also unable to comment on any injuries.
